From Kari Matzman About Her Gary:

The Day My Music Died

At 7:00 pm on this Tuesday evening, my world came to a screeching halt. I received a call from San Francisco General's social worker and before I made it to the hospital I already knew my forever had ended.

Gary was a true gentleman in every sense of the word and he was my gentle giant. He didn't care for conflict and would do anything in his power to avoid it. Instead he utilized the great gift of diplomacy that G-d had granted him. He was a friend, a brother, an uncle and the love of my life. Not an ill word will I allow to be uttered about him.

I am unable to explain the accident in detail that took him because to this day it pains me too much to discuss. I can only say that it is better to arrive 20 minutes late than to leave 20 years too early.

I love him more today than yesterday...but not as much as tomorrow....

KCMotorcycle

From Pat Wittorf Mother to: Kelley C. "KC" Kolberg, who was killed while riding his motorcycle. He was 35 years old.

Last Thursday, he became our most recent victim of that phenomenon that happens to motorcycle riders everywhere when they throw that leg across the bike. . . they become enveloped in a "Cloak of Invisibility". In KCs case, a young man-- only 22 years old -- failed to see my son and killed him. Now my husband and I are missing a son, KC's wife is missing a husband, KC's beautiful daughters (4 of them) are missing a father, Steven (KC's brother) is missing his brother, Steven's son Korbin is missing his uncle, his uncles and cousins are missing their relative and literally hundreds of friends are missing their friend. And just as sadly, that young man has a terrible burden of guilt with which he must live for the rest of his life. As friends have offered their support and prayers for me and my family, I have asked them to remember him as well.
